Group Ride Info

Where possible we try to arrange informal group rides on Saturday mornings. These groups are divided into A/B, C and D groups where A/B is advanced, C is intermediate and D is for beginners. Groups leave from various locations in the area which is normally communicated to the groups during the week. These locations are:

A/B Group from Honeydew Virgin Active (Top Gym) with pickup spots along the route depending on what route is taken.

C & D Groups normally leave from Silverstar Casino, Makiti Wedding Venue or Greensleeves in Sterkfontein area.

Group rides are there for everyone to enjoy and have a good time riding with mates. Rather choose a slower group first and work your way up. 18/20km/h average on a Mountain Bike on the trails is very different from 18/20km/h on the road or on a trainer. Choose a speed and distance that you are comfortable with.

A/B group +/- 18 to 20km/h ave with distances between 50 to 100+km.
C group +/- 16km/h ave with distances between 40 to 60k.
D group is more for beginners trying out the sport.
